Continued Professional Development | Enhance staff training and ongoing professional development to ensure all staff have the skills and expertise necessary to deliver high quality education for every pupil CPD will be a ‘thread’ running through all focus areas (linked to our Ofsted AI) |
Writing
| Progress in writing is strengthened through: - a consistent approach to the teaching of writing (inc spelling and handwriting) so that the teaching sequence is fully embedded from Years 1 to 6 - the chosen schemes being adapted to meet the needs of all and where gaps are identified, intervention/catch up takes place - staff having a secure understanding of key learning and teaching sequences |
Reading
| Progress in reading is strengthened through: - Early Reading: To introduce and embed the Little Wandle Phonics Scheme (EYFS & KS1) - KS2 Reading: To implement a consistent approach to teaching reading |
Maths
| Progress in maths is strengthened through: - improved rapid recall and understanding of multiplication facts through daily high quality teaching - embedded daily fluency and arithmetic practice sessions across the school to secure the basics and strengthen number fluency |
SEND
| - Implement a whole-school framework for identifying, assessing and supporting pupils with SEND, ensuring that provision is consistently high quality, inclusive and applied fairly and equitably across all phases - Embed a culture of high ambition and high expectations for pupils with SEND, enabling them to achieve their full potential through targeted support, personalised learning and rigorous progress monitoring |
Behaviour
| To further improve pupil behaviour through the implementation of a new behaviour approach grounded in Cambridgeshire Therapeutic Thinking (CTT). This will include the development and rollout of an updated behaviour policy, clearly defined expectations and the consistent embedding of core school values across the school community. |
Curriculum
| To further develop the Meridian Curriculum so it is ambitious, coherent and inclusive, ensuring clear progression in knowledge, skills and vocabulary so that all pupils achieve highly - Curriculum intent is clear, with progression in key skills, knowledge and vocabulary identified. - All subjects provide high-quality opportunities for deeper learning. - Assessment quickly identifies gaps and prior knowledge, which is built upon effectively. - Subject leaders develop the expertise to lead, monitor and drive improvement in their subjects. |
