Welcome to Meridian Primary School - a place where every child and their family receives a warm welcome, feels valued and becomes part of our caring learning community.
Our Vision
The Meridian community work together to become successful, life-long learners. Through high expectations, mutual respect and encouragement, we promote curiosity and resilience, creating a positive, nurturing and inclusive environment where everyone feels safe and thrives.
Our commitment is grounded in values we uphold daily:
Resilience - encouraging children to keep going and try their best
Community - working together to ensure inclusion
Respect - valuing ourselves, others, and our environment through considerate actions
Kindness - treating others with care and understanding
Curiosity - fostering a love of learning through questions and exploration
We aim for every child to be happy, thrive and become the best they can be - well rounded, lifelong learners who embrace these values.
To achieve these aims, staff use inclusive teaching styles, nurture independent learners, create a positive environment, offer diverse opportunities for skill and interest development and respond positively to the needs of all children.
Life at Meridian
Nestled in the picturesque village of Comberton, just west of Cambridge, Meridian Primary is a one-form entry school with a capacity of 210 children. We are proud to be part of the CB23 network, which includes Comberton Village and Cambourne Colleges - where most of our Year 6 children continue their education. Our school community primarily serves Comberton and surrounding villages, creating a close-knit and supportive environment.
Being a one-form entry school allows children to form close bonds across all year groups, nurturing strong friendships. Our extensive facilities include a large playground and field, sensory garden areas, a music room, an ICT suite, spacious and airy classrooms and breakout spaces.
We are continuing to develop our Meridian Curriculum to ensure it meets the needs of all our children and remains challenging and exciting. We offer a wide variety of clubs and enrichment activities to further enrich the curriculum experience.
Throughout the school term and holidays, our facilities are also used by various child and adult community groups, securing strong connections within our local area.
Partnership with Families and Community
We are passionate about fostering strong connections with our families and the wider community. Your involvement and support are vital to your child’s success and happiness.
We welcome your questions and feedback, and we look forward to working with you to provide your child with the best possible start and a bright future.
