• Football Team's winning formula

  Well done to all the children who played their first football match this season against Hardwick and Cambourne Primary School (Cambourne campus) on Monday. It was 3-1 win to Meridian! They played brilliantly! Well done to Luc for getting the man of the match award. 

• Choirs join in Sing Fest Rehearsal

  Meridian school choir were joined in our school hall today by two other schools to rehearse their songs for the county wide collaborate choir event. The morning session was led by the local authority music services. It was a tremendous effort by all, beautiful voices!

• Fire Engine comes in for a teaching session

  Children in Y1, learning about the Great Fire of London, were in for a special treat from Cambridge fire services. The children were able to view all the equipment the fire engine carries and see the special protective clothes the fire fighters wear.

  

• Netball going from strength to strength

  Well done to the children who represented the school at the local netball tournament on the 8th March. We were the only school who brought two teams along to play. The two teams are now through to the next round in the competition! Our Friday netball club has continued to grow in strength.

• Maths workshop for parents

  We had a lovely turnout of parents attending our parent workshop on 18th January and a buzz of 'maths talk' in the hall from children and parents after school. Luckily, our junior children were on-hand for a quick demonstration into some maths methods.

  KS1 children had great fun taking part in a drama working shop on Tuesday.

  

• Hands on science with a visiting STEM abbassador

  On Tuesday 16th January, Y6 and Y4 had some hands on science experience with a visiting STEM teacher. Y6 were looking at the functions of a heart (a lamb's heart) the Y4s were learning about sound.

  

• School Carol Service at St.Mary's Church

  A Joyous last day to the end of term, all children walking to the local village Church, singing songs; a well written reflection by the school councillors. We were supported by the new vicar Rev. David Newton who led a thoughtful message.
