Thank you John Lewis for supporting us!
We have received some gardening resources and gift vouchers from John Lewis.
The school council have met and decided what the vouchers will be spent on for the habitat garden project. The habitat garden project has been designed with all the children's ideas. It will be a place of calm, sensory and natural habitats for creatures. We are desperately trying to raise much needed funds to develop this. We have a Just giving page set up by our PTA and any help will be gratefully received. Thank you.
After the government's decision not to continue to fund free school meals over the holidays - the County Council is reminding people in Cambridgeshire that there always has been and there still is support for those who need it.
The County Council and District and City councils are issuing a reminder to all those that are struggling to cope during this pandemic to make contact, and this includes families who may be struggling but are not eligible for free school meals –should contact the Countywide hub on 03450455219
District/City localities, supported by the countywide hub were set up to support people, whatever their needs might be due to the impact of the pandemic. These localities will - as they have been for the last seven months - support people to access food and other supplies if they are struggling to provide for their families; and this will include those who are eligible for free school meals during the holidays. Advice and guidance is also made available to ensure families are maximising their eligibility for other benefits.
We have all had a wonderful World Book Day day! The children surpassed themselves with their very creative and original costumes. Thank you parents and carers for your time and support for helping to make this day so special!
We are really pleased to have received a letter from Rt Hon Nick Gibb MP who is the Minister of State for School Standards. He has congratulated our staff and pupils on our 2019 Y1 phonics check results in achieving 100% pass rate. This places us in the top 2% of schools across the country.
Well done Team Meridian!

The Year 6 SATs results came out this week and we were really pleased with all our Year 6 achievements and our collective results. 84% of our children achieved the expected outcomes or above in reading, writing and maths. 87% of children achieved the expected outcomes in grammar, punctuation and spellings. All our results are above Cambridgeshire county and national results for 2019. Well done Year 6! |
All classes took part in creating art from different parts of the world. The children worked with an art stimulus. We also celebrated International Day by wearing colourful clothes and donating money to our link school in The Gambia to support our sponsored children's education.
